Intuition and feel : what the Old Masters knew

So much of equestrianism can never be taught, no matter how skilled the teacher. The “feel” can only come from within. The Old Masters were open enough to follow their intuition and feel their way to true Lightness but Lightness is often blocked by physical or mental tension. Proceeding to work the horse before relieving these tensions will only be detrimental in the long run.
