Something in California ?!

Hi everybody !

if there isn't much activity on the english forum it's because there isn't much member that speaks only english and ALSO because AI isn't much active in the US (or UK)

but why not having something going on in the US?
i am living in northern california, and when i saw isa danne last fall in paris, we had thought of bringing peteris simulator to the west coast for some clinics around the bay area and sacramento (i live in davis).

would there be anyone interested by such an amazing event with such a great person as isa ?!
that would be great to have an AI gathering also, to bring new members, because i know that many persons in california would be very interested by lightness ideas and it is not very well-spread right now (this is the idea i got after a year of working with horses here).

anyway, we'll go for it with isa, as i know the owners of some horse barns around where i live and in the bay area (dressage, jumpings and more casuals stables).
but it would be great if we could make it an AI event, with other people involved in it, and lectures... i don't know...
i think that michel kaplan doesn't live far away...?

i am sure that we could set up a great event !

cheers !

madeleine.

Hi Madeleine!

Indeed this would be a marvellous idea. Did you have any contact with Kirsi van Sol? I think the main bottle neck for this kind of meeting is the travel expenses of people who certainly would love to come but could not afford the costs. But let's cross the fingers something can come up from this idea.

Kirsi Van Sol left the USA and is now living in Finland. But, Vincent, perhaps you will convince one of our Americain or Canadian members to become our representative in North America. That would be great!

For Isa, the expense should not be a problem as we calculate the clinics with BCBG (peteris simulator) would cover the cost of the flight, and more if we are lucky !

Colonel, why wouldn't you come and have a clinic or two in california ?! That would be la crème de la crème ! I am sure I can find an audience for you. And meanwhile, you'll be there to take part in a "journée AI"...and see the Golden Gate bridge...

Vincent, maybe you have family, friends to visit here ?! Let's come!

And anyone that is able to give a lecture would be welcome !

But i know: it is a very far away country...

(and i tried to contact allege-usa when i arrived a year ago, but there no answer)

I was reading the post in the french forum about Excessive framing and Andy Weal threw the name of Bettina Drummond. Is she american ?
I don't really know any person working on a high level in the US, but i am sure that we could find american professional riders that works according to lightness and would be willing to take part in an event with us.

it's just that i would need help from people who would give me the name of such people !

cheers!

Hello Madeleine,
Bettina Drumond is not american, but she is living in the Eastern part of the USA.
I was happy to hold 2 clinics in Los Angeles, but now I am used to go only to Illinois and Pennsylvania. Sorry but I am too busy.
There are many people riding Dressage at a high level in California.

yes indeed colonel, california is far away, especially when you are very busy as you are... thank you anyway for your answers!

i am sad that no one on this forum seems to be living in california. if Allege wants to be an international association, it needs to spread its area of influence !
i will try to get in touch with people that practise dressage at high level in lightness, living in california... thought i would have love someome would could have given me an hint !

Hi Madeleine,
Great idea! But as Vincent says, the long distances pose a problem. I live on the west coast in Canada - on Vancouver Island.
I do think that we should work together to try and organize AI clinics; there are many people who are believers of AI's message and fans of Col Carde. He used to come regularly to Victoria and Vancouver for several years. Unfortunately, his busy schedule makes it difficult for him to continue clinics at such a distance from France.
As he says, there are many riders and coaches in California at the higher level, who might be interesting and interested.
If you want to pursue this idea, you can e-mail me at beritturner [at] shaw [dot] ca. You can write in French or English.
Regards
Berit
